Sunbun – the working islands arrived in China

A sea change for a rooted mindset, so no one has to become a potential competitor. The introduction of working islands was an epochal change to the existing mentality that leads most Chinese companies to excessively parcel the production cycles, thus making them highly inefficient. As a first step, we convinced the mangement to organize a practical trial, starting from a single working island. The evident quality improvement, the relevant reduction of the lead time, the increased stability of the process and of the productivity and, last but not least, the reduced weight of labour costs, turned to positive our customer’s opinion on the use of this system. Today, when they are considered profitable, working islands are implemented within the whole company.
